NWCP Preston Guildhall

A colleague parked in the loading bay at the Guildhall and received a £100 ticket from NWCP.
He parked there on advice of the event organisers and paramedics - he was actually working as an event doctor and so was perfectly entitled to park in the loading bay with the ambulance vehicles. He also had medical equipment in the car that he needed to take in and out of the hall.
Should he respond to the notice and explain the above or ignore it. My friend, a solicitor, says to write in. I always thought the best thing to do with these was ignore them.
Thanks.

NO IGNORING IT (but no paying it either).
Things changed from 2013, when Parking Eye started to sue people, then in 2015 when they won at the Supreme Court (PE v Beavis). Some other PPCs have jumped on that bandwagon.
Please read the NEWBIES thread, which tells how to appeal (depends if it's BPA or IPC). He should NOT say who was driving but talk about the driver in the third person. NEWBIES thread explains why, and when to appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

you will find that the guy that owns the guild hall now , simon rigby , also owns the parking company , a sad case where his employee (organisers) instructed you to park there
you will now along with the rest of your medical colleagues be withdrawing all coverage at any venues he owns , hit the "£$%ard back , hard!!!Save a Rachael

@ OP - pappa golf is local to Preston, and knows the territory very well. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yup. Good luck getting a Dr for his events now.0

Reading the Newbie thread it seems that unless it is a very unusual case he should not bother with the IAS process and just wait and see if they sue him.
Would this count as such a case where it is worth following up with the IAS? He was directed to park there by staff and he reason to be there.0 -
No chance at IAS unless he can prove it.
The IAS expects the consumer to prove everything and the PPC to prove nowt.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

the ias will not care , look at companies house , he set this up , carefully moved the address to manchester (every other company is blackpool) and set his wife up as director , I would suggest you contact organisers , make your and other colleagues feelings known , if he want to proceed , this could hurt him financially when the authorities are contacted about lack of medical personnel ,Save a Rachael

you state "ambulance vehicle" , was the vehicle marked (signwriten/stickered/flashing lights) in a way to imply that it was being used for medical reasons?Save a Rachael

Ok. Not worth writing in.
The car wasn't marked but it was parked behind the marked ambulance cars.0
