Old Everest aluminum doors and window frames

Double glazing fitted over 23 yrs ago.
I am wanting to clean the aluminum on 2 external doors and window frames of my house.
I've tried soap and water/ white vinegar and water, but when I think I am getting somewhere it dries and the aluminum becomes dull with a few bleach like patches over it.
Is there any product I can buy that will restore the sheen?
Thank you

The frames will be anodised and/or lacquer. The white patches you are seeing is where the coating has broken down and the aluminium is corroding away.
Applying a coat of wax will probably be the best solution short term.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Try Using T Cut (available from Halfords etc) which is used to re-shine dull paintwork on cars.
It's excellent at cleaning metals.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Thank you Freebear,
When you say - short term , do you mean the door will have to be replace sooner then later?
Phill99 Thanks, I haven't really thought of using T Cut I will be checking it out

If you use wax, it will need to be reapplied after a while - Maybe once or twice a year.
A 23 year old double glazing is probably coming to the end of its intended life, so you may want to consider a replacement at some point. Perhaps in five to ten years depending on the state of the sealed units.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
