Ryanair 'Payment fee'

Just booking a flight for what i thought was the total price and the summary box already shows 'payment fee £1.58' before i've even chosen a method of paying. So you get charged extra just to have the privelege of paying?

It disappears for a debit card.0

2% fee for credit cards and PayPal.
No fee for debit cards. If you change the payment type it will reflect this.
It does tell you this on the website.0 -
Where are you booking?
On the Ryanair website, for a random date and flight I see the following:
Debit Card: Free
Credit Card: £2.76
Paypal: £2.67
(The amounts will vary based on a % of the fare)
On the payment page you can select Debit/Credit Card or Paypal. When you select a Debit card as card type there'll be no payment fee. If you select a credit card or Paypal it will add the payment fee to the price breakdown.0 -
