Ppi offer

I previously had a credit card through Tesco bank and through this site decided to see if I had any ppi on this account, I received a reply saying they are unable to find sufficient information to confirm weather I was provided any information when taking out the card.
They say that with the total premium paid and interest of 8%im owed in the region of £150, which is fine but is that really compensation I'm only getting back what I paid plus interest, feel cheated that they were taking ppi without my knowledge, should I accept this or complain to the ombudsman
Any thought please

You don't get compensation for your hurt feelings. You get back what you were owed plus the interest.0

It's a myth fostered by Claims Companies that PPI was routinely added without the customer's knowledge.
You had a credit card which would have had the PPI listed on a separate line each month, so I don't know how you can say you were unaware of it unless you didn't examine your statements.
The small amount awarded you in redress suggests that the Bank have paid you this without any investigation simply as a "goodwill gesture". You can only contest this if you have proof that you paid more than they are offering (very unlikely given your assertion that you knew nothing about having the PPI).
Accept the offer, you will not receive any more..0
