Being cheeky with BT?

Afternoon all,
I have a contract expiring soon (3 months I think), I pay £70pcm for broadband (top package) line rental (I don't use the landline at all) and TV (BT Sport and Cartoon network are a must). I would like to upgrade to 4k. Due to my previous encounters with fair usage policies I'd prefer to stay with BT.
From my research a new customer would receive the top package (Bband + 4k pack) for circa £50. My question is: if my contract negotiations with BT are fruitless, is it possible to cancel the contract and let my partner sign up as a new customer (different surname, bank account)?
Cheers

You do to receive broadband .
Not sure if i would pay the extra for 4K yet as so little content .
Your best method is as multiple posts on the forum say .
Put a cancellation in to BT when all your contracts have less than 30 days to run .
Wait a week or two to see what they offer .0 -
What is the correct way to cancel BT0
-
Cancel as in no service incurs a charge .
Cancel in contract requires payment .
Swap ISP if you are out of contract then the new ISP handles it all .0 -
Watch out for cease fees on the line if cancelling and your partner having to pay to reinstate it.
Just ask them and quote the new customer prices.0 -
