I feel like the thread killer because I'm always the last to post and then it all goes quiet
My little Mr T didn't have any nice bread so I drove to the big Mr S instead and managed to get some great YS things. They reduce everything in the fresh section to 20p and fruit and veg to 10p. I managed to get:
2 X TTD Mac and cheese
2x TTD roast potatoes in goose fat
1 fresh cream Victoria sponge
Melting middle sponge puddings
Sweet corn kebabs
1 cauliflower
I also bought a basics storage box to try as a cat litter tray as it's deeper and might stop it all getting kicked over the sides.
It's my mum's birthday on Sunday and I bought cards there too, they would have been much cheaper in card factory but that would have necessitated a trip into town tomorrow and broken into my day so I figured it was worth an extra couple of quid to have the whole day to myself
PS I also bought their last pack of parsnip seeds, I know they should have been sown a month ago but I'm going to give it a try anyway...Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

In other news, apparently our huge MrT has introduced a queueing system for the YS stuff after somebody got injured in a scuffle :eek:Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Morning everyone!
FatVonD, I enjoy reading your posts in the morning when you've posted last thing
Had a rubbish nights sleep, hence why I'm up so earlyLess than 6 hours sleep as this cold has me coughing. I also think the older I'm getting the less alcohol is agreeing with me...that seems to disturb my sleep a lot now too.
Plans for today:
* Get some washing in the machine and let it dry outside.. going to be a scorching weekend!
* Pop to Mr T and see if they have any of that Haig scotch left for Fathers Day. They had run out the other day so it might be back in stock
* Hook up the new water pipe and jet wash the cars
* Go to butchers and pick up some chicken for dinner
* Go for a walk tonight around the park with DH
Have a lovely day everyone. Don't forget your sun cream! :cool:0 -
FVD that's the first time I've heard about a queuing system for YS goodies. U did well in Mr S last night. MY DD hasn't done a YS run for 2 days, but we're still working through everything she has picked up and freezer space is non existent. They certainly help the budget, my grocery challenge money is well under this month which I'm pleased about and a good job after the start of the back bedroom planning spends.
twins I hope you are feeling better soon, there is nothing worse than when u have a cough with a cold, u never get a good night's sleep and the coughing seems never ending,
Myself and DD are out tonight. Not like me to go out as I don't last well and we've got to travel quite abit but really looking forward to it. Must remember to take the raffle prizes I've offered from my stocks. Love a good raffle. Tonight all budgeted for and factored into spends.
Need to do some paperwork today and abit of housework but not overdoing it or I won't manage tonight.
Looks like it's going to be a hot one today.
Cat cleaning partly done. Think it's another cuppa first before I get my bum in gear.
Have a good day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jeez, it's hot out there, way too hot for me (unless I have the sea or a swimming pool close by, which I don't!)
I've been up a couple of hours and have done the washing up and scrubbed the worktops. Driven to the GP to hand in my repeat prescription but they were closed. I popped to the shop for milk and sausages (I'm planning on cooking a roast later, perfect weather for it )
The rest of the day will be about:
Clean bathroom and swap towels
Clean bedroom and change sheets
Sow parsnip seeds
Free up 2 more storage boxes for more parsnips
Buy compost if needed
Try to drop off DSXGF's stuff if I can
Drop off WBB packages

Hi guys
yippee to the weekend ! I've been down the lottie for a few hours, picked broadbeans, broccoli, radishes, lettuce, a few strawberries. Came home and am making a bb turkish mezze dish, a salad and a broccoli salad for a party we're going to
Weirdly we have 3 parties to go to today! a kids party 2-4, a party to celebrate the election result in our area - historic vote in Canterbury :-) and a friend's solstice party late afternoon/evening/night! (this one the food is for)
So not much going on apart from that! Need to pack up clothes for party this evening - those who can stay up for the sunrise (that's me probably out then!)
Have watered veggies
will use stash for wrapping paper for gift
drinks for party already procured.
Ok better go get ready!DF as at 30/12/16

Remove about 60 newly-hatched green caterpillars from one of my other roses? Why do they love my garden so much when I don't like them??

And they love my garden0 -
Another brown spikey one relocated to the buddlea out the back.
I've had a swarm of wasps in the kitchen this afternoon too, they must be off searching for a new nest. Strangely they don't bother me at all, I just opened all the doors and windows and most have found their way out now.
It's still way too hot here, I keep doing bits and pieces but it's exhausting in this heat.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

FVD - I know you have a phobia about caterpillars, & I understand completely because I have pretty bad arachnophobia, but before you spray them, do bear in mind that they are a huge food source for birds. At this time of year, caterpillars are regularly fed to chicks & will be an important part of their food & moisture. It's why I don't use slug pellets. They're a damn nuisance but we just have too many birds, frogs & a hedgehog so I tend to stick to other methods. I know you really don't like caterpillars though x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
