What small DFW things will you do this week? w/c 12/06

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

    Hi June Joy-Seekers,

    Having a sofa day today.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Checked online banking for me and DW.

    * Keeping an eye on Broadband Allowance.

    * Bought DW a shiny thing yesterday on 0% credit card for loyalty reward and extra consumer protection. Will repay from Joy Fund today.

    * Argue with Quidco over declined cashback.

    * Registered for a TopCashBack account. Had enough of Quidco!

    * Cleared Desktop on PC. Made me feel much "lighter" to hide away my work files!

    * Shower using products gleaned from business trip hotel stay.

    Onwards and upwards.

    Morning all,
I soooo need a good focused week this week, both for the money saving & to sort my head out. On today's list:
*Clean house using minimal products & washable cloths.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Wrap an ebay parcel & relist unsold stuff.
*Rake over raised bed & plant out sweetcorn.
*Tie in tomato plants & water greenhouse veggies.
*Feed sourdough jar & plan when to attempt using for first loaf.
*Do a bit of handwashing while windy enough to get it dry on line.
*Continue running dehumidifyer to deal with horrible mess left by this weekend's Total Washing Machine Meltdown.
*Cast on another pair of Christmas present socks. Darn in the loose ends on last pair & stash in presents box.
*Sort out a small cash swap to keep budgets accurate.
*Use-it-up.......mascara tube dunked in hot water yielded sufficient for another day of lashes. Finished off a tiny sample lipstick.
*Stashed a few more good-sized jars ready for New Year's marmalade making. I made extra this year & sold the surplus. I could have sold double, so I'll be better prepared this time.
Ok......must head off to find the chicken manure pellets (ooooh, the glamour of my life.....) & get that sweetcorn bed planted.
    Cheers all,
    F x

  • Morning :) sorry I wasn't about last week. Was so busy the best I was doing was getting by! I'm working today but helpfully my calendar on my phone has wiped all of my appointments! I've contacted a client I know I had a meeting with this morning at 9 but she denies all knowledge so it hasn't been such a mad rush to get out of the house :)

I'm so exhausted with everything I've been doing the last few weeks I really need some R&R now!

    Small things for the day:

    * make note of mileage
    * all meals from stores
    * keep on top of house - we had friends round for roast yesterday so did a mega tidy & I want to stay on top of it now!
    * water vegies in gh
    * meeting tonight 7.30-9 post election campaign
    * WFH for a couple of hours before going to meet clients - ah just had an email cancelling from the 1 person I knew I was meeting! Might be wfh all day now :)
    * have 1/2 hour in the hot tub we've purchased (opps big spend but we decided it was an early xmas present to each other :) ) great way to unwind!
    * pay cc statement in full

Ok that's all I can think of right now! Happy Monday guys

Afternoon all :hello: why is life so busy  I seem to meet myself coming back at the moment. Not helped by being struck down with food poisoning at the weekend. Totally wiped me off my feet. Managing to WFH today and tomorrow, hopefully that will do the trick. Not much spending going on, but trying to keep the faith :)
Water veggies if need be later, very windy here
    Washing out to dry
    NSD :rotfl:
Message fleabay person to explain why their parcel hasn't been posted.
Do an invoice for another that wanted to buy a second item but didn't bid on it !
Something from freezer for smalls for tea
    Check banking, update sheets
    Check surveys, FPL
    Cashed out £co

Enjoy your tub determined sounds like a perfectly sensible purchase to me :D

Right, off to make a work call and then I might have a nap ;)

Not having one of the best of days.
Had my leftovers from yesterday for lunch
    Banking all checked
    DW all sorted
Important paperwork and calls I've put off-finally getting sorted:T

However feel really unsettled today, DD has an exam and she is feeling the same. We' re both having to adapt and create new routines and both of us are struggling:(! The only ones that seem settled at the minute are the cats!!!
On a good note Birthday presents and Christmas are coming along nicely-my failsafe, when feeling stressed I check the books I have for each, do wrapping and look as if I look prepared, organised and saving money ( the last bit I am as I keep a log of everything to keep me on track:j)
Sometimes I just hate Mondays....but at least it's not raining:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
