Lease

Hi,
i was wondering if anyone could help. My girlfriend has signed a lease on a room that she no longer wants last thursday. Are there such things as cooling off periods in these circumstances?, the door has no lock!! and the room is dirty. Is there anyway out of this or will it come down to negotiation or running off ;)

    Has she paid a deposit?
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

Take lots of photos showing how bad it is too.

Close-ups of dirty are very convincing.

She would be a lone female in a room with no lock. Close ups of the door would be good too.

Or maybe just ask the landlord to fit a lock and clean the room?!!

Any landlord that would consider letting a room like that out without cleaning and fitting a lock etc isn't the sort of landlord ANYONE wants.
