US Dollar account with Natwest

Options
Is it possible to open a US Dollar account with Natwest? I don't really want to use the International services.

If they offer such an account it must be possible to open one. But they won't provide a USD debit card and their rates for exchanging to/from GBP will be extortionate. What's your purpose?

I work abroad and paid in a currency pegged to the USD. I'd like to transfer from abroad to UK account in USD then use a currency exchange service to change to GBP when required.

You'll still have various charges (plus forex unless they do the transfers in USD) I assume it's a middle eastern country?

You may find the TransferWise 'Borderless Account' useful:

You might need to be in UK (or use VPN) to sign up.

This is a good option. Though if you wish to withdraw $ funds into UK bank account (whether £ or $), you still have to pay conversion fees. The only way not to pay conversion fees is to also have a physical bank account in the US of A.
