been turned down as not on electrol roll

i have recently applied for a second credit card with the plan to transfer my current balance now my interest free period has come to an end but was told i could not have one as i am only showing on the electrol roll for half of the time i was at one of my previous address.
is there anything i can do to prove to the credit reference agencies that i was living there in order to improve my rating?

Ring up customer services for the credit card you are applying for and ask them if they would like some written evidence (utility bills,council tax)that you were at the address when you say you were.
They may then accept that you were at the address,but equally they may not and you won't be any further forward and still without a card.
Make sure you are registered for your current address and pay all bills on time and by direct debit if you can as this will help improve your standing with credit companies .
