Hi - There's a pretty new holiday inn express which is very central. There's also a travel lodge and travel inn but as they're on the Quayside I think they'll be expensive. The other cheap chains normally require a taxi ride in so may not be worth it. Have a check on travel supermarket and check the price via trip advisor.
Hope you have a fab time! :beer:Ladedah

they dont seem to be very cheap - there is a metro inn's hotel at £30 a night, but it looks like its quite far out of the town centre - does anyone know anything about this hotel??
Metro Inns Newcastle - 1* - Newcastle Upon Tyne
Ponteland Road, Kenton Bank, Newcastle NE3 3HZ
It works out at £12 each a night - which is silly cheap - but whats the area the hotel is in like? and how much would a cab cost into town??0 -
You won't get cheap in Newcastle on a Saturday night - Friday & Sayurday's are peak time for stag & hen parties - espeically as oyu've left it so late to book.
For Sunday to Tuesday however you should be able to get some cheap rooms
BTW what do you mean by centre of town - near the pubs or near the shops?0 -
I've not stayed at the Metro Inn, so don't know what it's like but it's right next to the A1 and not too far from town. That is by car/bus/taxi. It's also next to Kenton Park shopping area (has tkmaxx, boots, etc.). There is metro station not too far either but I probably would not use it late at night. I don't imagine it would cost you much more than £10-15 for taxi.0

Jurys Inn is near the station, short taxi from most places but rooms can hold up to 4 adults0

Try Osbourne Road for hotels, there are several and only a 10 minute walk into centre of Newcastle, plus on a bus and metro route. Osbourne Road is very popular and there are lots of places to eat and drink with an excellent atmosphere.0
