Dog flatulance

Sorry for the topic but I cannot stand much more of it. My foster dog is currently in 20mg of omeprazole with another 5 days to run. I suspect this is the cause. Has anyone else has a dog on this medication who has had this problem? Any solutions?? The smell is beyond offensive! Any advice appreciated.

I don't have an answer for the dog but have you tried http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Emergency-Survival-Safety-Respiratory-Gas-Mask-With-2-Dual-Protection-Filter-MI/192027141966?_trksid=p2385738.c100694.m4598&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20161006002618%26meid%3D97cf9eccc3f64d9294bdfb0120a0928f%26pid%3D100694%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D50%26sd%3D1223422803300

A google search finds that flatulence can be a side effect of this medicine.0

Personally I'd consult a vet before doing anything - traditional remedies for flatulence such as activated charcoal may effective the efficiency of the medicine by interfering with how it's absorbed.
You could perhaps see if pre or probiotics would be recommended, but to be honest with 5 days left I would probably just sit it out, peg on nose!0 -
Could it be an anal glands issue? We used Glandex for our Bulldog and that did a great job at reducing smells! Bought it from Farm and Pet Place and found it really reasonable.0
