Questions about having bathroom fitted/re-tiled

Does anyone know roughly the day rate for a tiler? Just had the guy round and he's going to email me a quote. He thinks it may take 3-4 days to complete, that's taking existing tiles down, fitting toilet and sink and putting up new tiles. He said up to 5 if they need to replaster, which they may well do. So I'm just trying to roughly calculate what kind of day rate an average tiler charges? We're near London as well, so I'm guessing that could jack it up a bit.

You might be lucky, but every bathroom quote I've ever had has been twice what I would have expected as someone who does not know anything about labour rates. I am also near London.

I would estimate that the quote will be for around £3,500 if you are supplying all the tiles and sanitaryware (plus VAT if he is VAT registered).
