Maybe you should just concentrate on driving the car and not fiddling with tech all the time. This is currently a big problem with a lot of drivers.

The reason why CarPlay is such an attraction is that it negates the need for an inbuilt satnav (though does raise the requirement for a good data package on your mobile contract). It is something which in hindsight you should have asked to be demonstrated on the test drive if it was as crucial to you as you are saying.

Five or six weeks down the line, I think you will struggle, but you don't get if you don't ask. As others have said you're only route really is to see what the finance company say. I don't rate your chances.

Maybe you shouldnt post irrelevant !!!! on other peoples posts just to meet your agenda?

One of the benefits of the system that the OP wants is its ease of use - it fully integrates with the phone and allows voice commands - thus, quite possibly making it easier and safer to use than other units. You may also be suprised to here that not everyone 'fiddles' with the tech in the car while moving, who is to say that the OP would?

OP - although the factory upgrade is £3999 as a retrofit, there are other aftermarket units that offer the same thing - depending on car, they work as per the factory intended - ie, steering wheel controls work etc.

It maybe worth speaking to an ICE specialist (possibly not halfords) and seeing what they have - or post the question on a car forum specific to your make / model.

The aftermarket units are generally of a better quality for a much reduced price. Even if your existing unit has trims around it to make it blend in with the dash, many aftermarket facia trims are available to help the new unit blend in - especially on VW group cars.

Hit a raw nerve have I JP? You obviously aren't very observant, if you were as you drive around you would quite clearly have noticed the amount of people fiddling with things within their car whilst driving.
I think you also mean "SURPRISED" and "HEAR".

OP, you really should have checked the car had the option you wanted prior to completing the deal if it were so important to you.

Now that you have completed the deal, I would personally say the lack of the option isn't enough to warrant rejection.

Sorry to recycle this but the same thing is happening to me. I purchased a vehicle that was advertised as 2017 and find it was built in 2016 and does not carry the 2017 features in the radio / audio set up.
The manufacturer changed the spec half way through the rollout and the dealer copied the current spec and advertised that DAB was included.
I spoke with manufacturer who after three weeks said tough but you can have a £75 voucher against servicing.

I spoke with the dealer who bought about 20 of these as a lot they are spread all across the UK and still being advertised. They have now put in a get out clause on the adverts.

I know of at least one other case that was the same issue.
The dealer has offered to add an adaptation to deliver DAB but manufacturer has warned that it might invalidate my warranty.

To add salt to the wound they have reduced the price by £800. To their credit they did say they would buy the car back so I think there is a way forward. Even if I sell back the car and buy another at a saving of £800 from the same dealer I am o worse off

The additional DAB install wont invalidate the warranty if fiteed properly.

If your stereo blows up and they say it was wired badly and the DAB was the cause then yes they wont fix that. But the dealer who fitted it are liable.

If they fit the DAB and the engine blows up then its still covered.

Did they advertise it as a Model Year or simply a 2017 car? Without it expressly stating model year, I would take it as a car registered in 2017.

I don't get why people are paying several thousand pounds on something and asking fewer questions than they ask when buying a toaster.
