Access to old child Abbey National savings account - please help

I'm not too sure how to go about this or if this is the right forum. Back years ago when Santander used to be Abbey National I had a child savers type of account. I remember having a little red and blue child card with my signature on it, but obviously since I was a child my mum had all the details to the account and she was only person allowed to access it. I'm not too sure on the exact name of the account. There was about £500-600 in there from my memory however might be more. I am now graduating and remember that I still have quite a bit of money in this account, so asked my mum for the details and my child card thing for proof and she said had totally forgot about it, we have moved house since then and quite a few things got lost in the move.
How would I go about this? All I have is my name, D.O.B and details of previous address (and mums details) but feel silly contacting bank and enquiring about a child account from over 10 years ago that I do not even know the exact name of. Especially as Abbey National does not exist anymore and has been replaced by Santander. I'm not too sure what to do now, so any help would be appreciated!
