Help Please

Would anyone please give me advice on this....

I was lucky to win an item which the competition provider had sent from Argos. My mistake was I understood the item to be something that it isn't.

Am I able to return to store & exchange for vouchers or the item I thought it was - obviously I don't have the receipt, but I do have the order number?

Any help gratefully received , thank you

I imagine that would be something between you and Argos. If I'm reading correctly and the mistake was your own and it isn't that the prize has been misrepresented, then you can't expect the prize provider to help out but may have some luck with the retailer. Think of it in the same way as if you had received an unwanted Christmas present and had decided to try and exchange it. Some retailers would have no problem with it while others would, but either way it is at their own discretion.
Failing that, I guess if it is genuinely of no use to you or anyone you know and you don't wish to donate it, you could try and sell it and buy what you thought you were receiving with the proceeds.
