Hit faulty bollard - Help please

Hi, on Thursday when I went to vote I hit a bollard in the sports centre car park.

Now the bollard is on of the small 2 foot metal ones that is supposed to go into the ground when the sports centre is open, however it is faulty and stuck up. The bollard is in the entrance to the over flow car park. I pulled into the entrance and as there was a car parked either side of the entrance, being in a van you can not see the bollard at all, so it caused a lot of damage to my van. The sports centre are not interested saying driver error.

However I have dashcam footage where you only see the bollard very last second, however the dashcam is high up and on the passenger side of centre. Drivers side you cannot see the bollard. I also have many pictures. I've logged it with my insurance who are not interested and just passed me to the underwriters. However I personally feel I have a case and having paid for legal cover feel they should at least look into it.

Anyone know where I stand please? Thanks

Your insurers will deal with it as a fault claim.
Whilst you say the bollard shouldn't have been half up, you drove over it.

If it was stuck up how did other vehicles get into or out of the car park without damage?

Surely you should have seen whether it was going down as you approached it.

It sounds like driver error.

Unless the bollard was down, and then went up as you went to drive over it, I can't see how the bollard is 'faulty', or how the company have been negligent, as you say there were vans parked either side of the entrance obstructing your view.

Probably just one to chalk up to experience.
