LED filament lamps - are higher power ratings available?

I've just noticed that Tesco and Asda are selling LED filament lamps with claimed efficiencies above 100 lumens per watt for £3 to £4 each, eg.

I've already bought a couple to replace CFL lamps, I reckon the pay back period will be less than 6 months for heavily used light fittings.

I have a couple of questions:
- Are LED lamps with efficiency above 100 lm/W a new thing, or have I just not been paying attention?
- Has anyone found a source of lamps this efficient that are bright enough to replace 100W incandescent bulbs?

Looks like LED bulbs with that type of output are available:

If your cheaper Tesco ones do indeed give light matching old incandescent 100W bulbs, then that seems like a good deal.
Of course it's close to impossible for Joe Public to accurately measure the light output, so you have to take the specs provided as true....

LED bulbs are failing left right and centre, they're pretty much all made in China for China voltages (220v AC), the UK has mains voltage of 230v +10% or -6%.

All they do is put mains voltage through a bridge rectifier and smoothing circuit to get over 300v DC to drive the LEDs, they then split that voltage across many LEDs in series (each LED needing around 3 volts), so around 100 LEDs per "bank", it's carefully balanced thing, over voltage slowly kills the LEDs by driving them slightly too hard and once one blows, it either goes open circuit (killing the whole bulb) or it goes short circuit (which then increases the voltage on the remaining LEDs).

My mains voltage is typically 245 in the daytime and 252 at night, i've recorded it reaching 257v on rare occasions, LED bulbs last me about 6-9 months and given the cost versus CFL, they're a complete waste of money.

I do like LED lights, my garage is fully lit using LEDs, but they all run on 12v DC, supplied by the same heavy duty (10amp capable) 12v power supply that runs my CCTV system.

Blimey that was too technical for me. We changed our old GU10 for LED in 2013 and touch-wood we haven't had a single failure. Looking at the emailed receipt we got them from ledstop.co.uk I have no idea if they still exist...the make of the LED was Kosnic.

We replaced GU10, 50W halogen with CFL then LEDs which are much brighter.

CFLs take a while to reach brightness. CFLs and LEDs from genuine EU manufacturers last and give good output.

Beware cheap Chinese imports which fail prematurely, give poor light and nowhere near the lumen output.
