Car insurance - am I being fobbed off?

Morning All

I've recently been in a car accident I was the passenger of my vehicle and my policy with one of my named drivers at the wheel. I suffered whiplash from the accident and the car is a write off :( The insurers have said they will pay for the car but not my injury as my named driver was classed as at fault. Is this correct or are they just trying to avoid paying more?

Your claim is a separate issue to the driver's claim for the written off car.

Consider using a specialist injury solicitors to handle your claim for your injuries
  • Hi Quentin,

Thanks for your reply I'm not sure I understand; why its different? It is my insurer that is paying for the car write off so why would they not also cover me for injury as a passenger in my car?

You need to make a claim for your injuries off the driver. (Who will pass it on to the insurer). Best to use a solicitor for injury compensation unless you know what you are doing

The driver needs to separately make a claim for the damage

The driver was covered against causing injury to passengers!
