Terracotta Army - 500 tickets released each day

Myself and the family will be in London mid October and with all the bookable tickets for the British Museum being long gone I wondered if anyone had any experience of turning up on the day.
According to the BM website they release 500 tickets at 0915 each day so I wondered what it would be like if we rolled up early doors.
Any chance of getting in?
Anyone who has done this or has any knowledge feel free to advise.
Many thanks

Hi
I was inb the BM on Sat am, and they were telling some people that all the tickets had gone, and people who had been in line since 7.45 still did not get any.
So yes they are available but you will need to be prepared for an early start, although may be easier midweek rather than weekend
Good LuckOver 100k miles of Electric Motoring and rising,0 -
Thanks for that, I must admit I do think it will be an early riseWe all evolve - get on with it0

Lets not start to panic over this...the exhibition is on until next April! I'm planning to go early in 2008 at which time I bet the tickets will be readily available - might even be wandering round on my own.0

Not panicking - just can't book tickets for when I will be in London, so checking on the early morning option. Currently the earliest bookable tickets through the website are in December.We all evolve - get on with it0

We (well my wife) did this last Monday(24th Sept)
I'd been advised that the queue forms quite early so she went for about 08:15. The tickets went on sale at 09:00
She did get tickets, but was queuing in the wrong place, despite asking the guard where to go.
(Don't know how she missed the Great Court queue or that particular entrance
)
Anyhow just to remind you these tickets are timed, she asked for the latest time and got 15:15.
Once inside you can stay as long as you want.
TIP:- Do not join the snake like queue of people staring at the exhibits. Wander around or head straight for the soldiers in the second part of the exhibition.
If you can either watch (again) the BBC2 documentary China's Terracotta Army or download it from somewhere like here then you will save yourself a lot of time in the exhibition.
You can hire the description on an audio guide.(Being MSE I had watched the BBC so didn't!).
I noticed there are now tickets for December whereas when I looked last week for a relative the earliest were for January so maybe some more do get released on-line.
IMHO
These soldiers a quite unique but I learned a lot about the Qin Shi Huangdi from the TV (his name is pronounced "Chin" hence the name of China
)
Up close and personal they are "OK" but not awe inspiring.

Tickets after December seem to have sold out in the last couple of weeks - I'd be surprised if more are released:rolleyes:0 -
As posted on another thread-its a big let down, you only see 20 figures, and some artifacts are "replicas". saw it in Malta in June, very dissapointing .0

More tickets have been released for October and November0 -
Thanks for all your replies. Still none available for the dates we are there so looks like the early morning trip to see if we can get any on the day.
If not plenty of other things to see and do.We all evolve - get on with it0
