But there seems to be no way of getting peoples landline numbers anymore , and can't find him on Facebook .
Bit stalkerish I know buy I'd rather just risk a phone call to ask the reason they got shut of the car in the first place .0 -

I'd expect that to be the case. You'd find it started to get down the road a lot more eagerly once you got up above 3000RPM.
My 2.0L MX5 feels worse than my 2L diesel Mondeo below 3000RPM. Once I get the MX5 above that the Mondeo stands no chance.
