Ebay help needed please :-(

Hi all hopefully someone here can help me and put my mind at ease..

I was selling an item with buy it now or best offer. A girl sent a best offer which I accepted. I then sent invoice etc the usual, and heard nothing from the buyer. I sent a couple more emails politely reminding for payment and of the unpaid item reminder. No reply, and so I filed the unpaid item dispute. No reply to that either.

I then left negative feedback (this is after 2 weeks) stating non payment. I checked her other feedback and she had a non payment neg from around two days after she bought my item.

She then left a negative straight away on my account stating that 'I left a neg back because I refuse to pay for a fake ......'.

I emailed straight back asking why did she not email me to sort out etc but no reply. Pulled contact details, no contact made, number unobtainable.

The other buyer had filed a non paying bidder dispute and when it ended (and she had not replied) ebay took the feedback away from that sellers account - will this happen to me too??

edit: the item I was selling is not fake and on a lot of her other auctions she accuses people of selling fakes.

Thanks

If they haven't replied to the unpaid item dispute, ebay should remove the feedback they left you.

Also leave a follow up on the neg you left her, maybe saying she leaves negs for no reason or something like that!

Agreed with above post. If you saw the non paying bidder alert to the end any feedback she left will be removed by ebay. If that doesn't happen you should contact them.

If you left the neg 2 weeks after sale then you can't have completed and closed the NPB process as that takes a minimum of 15 days if buyer does not respond, ie 7 days to open dispute and then closing it to reclaim your FVFs on day 8 after that. So the first thing to do is to look in your dispute console and make sure the dispute has been closed and says clearly that fees have been reclaimed.

The actual neg should have been removed automatically if the NPB process was finalised and the buyer did not respond. The comments however will remain.

All I can think of is that eithe you have not closed the dispute or that there was r eply from her that went through the dispute console which means her neg will remain. You can check both of these by looking at the dispute console.

  • Hi

    Thanks for your replies,

The dispute is not closed yet - had no reply from her so just waiting to get it closed. Will that make a dfference?

Yes, the dispute must be closed without buyer response for the neg to be removed. If the buyer responds now before you can close the dispute then the neg remains.

If you are worried about a retaliatory neg it is worth completing the NPB dispute before leaving your own feedback. However depending on her overall feedback when you close your dispute and she gets another strike it might be sufficient for her to be removed from Ebay anyway.
