Multi Car Discount - Inform insurer when leaving?

I'm currently with Privilege on their multi car discount policy. I have one insurance that expires in July and the other in October. I'll be leaving them for another insurance company for the car policy that expires in July. Do I have to tell them i.e. will this affect the other policy? If I call them I may have to pay more money!

If you mean you are insuring both cars elsewhere from July, (and the October car already has some NCD), then unless you cancel the policy you have nil NCD for the October car to take to a new insurer in July
You normally have to pay money to cancel early, so see if the money you have to pay compared with not paying anything, and leaving the October car insured (and having nil NCD) is cost effective0 -

Hi. No, I will be moving the July policy to another insurer. The October one will remain until October.0 -
OK
You may have to pay some money then as you will not be entitled to the multicar discount if you don't have multiple cars on the policy as from July.
You do need to tell your current insurer you no longer want the July car insured as from July!0
