Pug 207 2009 1.4 thoughts and other cars

I need a new car ASAP.

Saw a PUG 207 Verve 1.4 petrol (3 door) this morning (used car dealer) 3 month Warranty.
70,000 miles
Has had recent waterpump and timing belt change

I don't want diesel.

Does it sound ok, anything I should beware of with this model?

How about a Meriva (old shape) any good?

OK I know it's cheeky but If you can help find me a car it would be great, I am in work right now, and I can't look for a car online in work.

I am in Pontypridd and I need a car like yesterday. The closer to Pontypridd the better but I would still be interested what can be found arounbd the UK.

£3000 - £7000 but I am flexible

5 door, but 3 door ok

I like low road tax (ideally therefore 2016 or before) but it's ok if not too steep.
I like base models - no frills cheaper insurance
I like economic driving (good mpg)
I like Corsa, Someone said they found a preregistered Corsa for £7000 on here in March... something like that would be interesting.

Can you help please?

thanks

207s suffer from ecu faults that cause the power steering to fail, then you are looking at 4 figures to replace the ecu and sort it out.

The washer pump leaks into the wiring harness and corrodes it all the way to the ecu.

Look at a Toyota Yaris, or small Suzuki.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Wouldn't touch a car at 70,000. 60,000 OK, 80,000 OK, 65-75000, avoid like the plague as that tends to be around the mileage brake discs, pads, shock absorbers, suspension bushes and clutches need doing. Avoiding cars which are on multiples of 70,000 miles+/-5000 miles is one of my golden rules unless there is evidence the above have been done..

Thanks for the recommendation, after reading the review I decided to look for one of these.

    I just bought one today, 2013/13 S 60PS, 20,000 miles, £4000
I would have liked it a bit cheaper, but I had to get a car fast, price is good enough. Base model, but that's ok with me.
