Online Solicitors

Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone on here has any experience of using an online solicitor when looking to purchase a property? I've had a number of quotes from local solicitors so I'm just interested to compare some quotes from some online.
Thanks

They'll be cheaper, but that does not necessarily mean better.
I'm sure there are a few exceptions, but my experience is not good.
Given the amount you are likely to be spending on a property I would suggest it is advisable to choose a solicitor based on a recommendation from a friend or family member, and not use cost as the deciding factor.0 -
I would go the other way and say use an onliner or one with decent reviews from reallymoving.com. In my experience the local ones are expensive and do not necessarily provide any better service just because they cost more and are local. In this day and age there is no reason why you cannot use an onliner based in Liverpool when you are buying a house in Bristol, everything can be done electronically apart from a few bits that you may need to post.
I used RMNJ which I think I got via ReallyMoving and they were pretty good. Good luck0 -

Thanks for the reply. We aren't going on cost alone at all. We would rather use someone who is trusted, experienced and timely.
We've already got a really good quote from someone who is very local and came to us as a recommendation from my boss at work so it's highly likely we will be going with them but I was just interested to see and hear what the other options are.0 -
