Travel insurance claim guidance ?

Wondering if anyone can offer some guidance on a travel insurance claim for cancellation of a holiday I am meant to be going on next week.
My grandmother has passed away and the funeral is now when I`m meant to be in Mexico.
Looking at her death cert it states heart attack but linked to blood pressure and diabetes. We all knew about the diabetes for last few years. Would this result in the claim being rejected because it was a previous known medical illness or does it only count if it were actually my grandmother that was claiming on a policy ?

If you read your policy you will (probably) see existing medical conditions in existence at the time of booking mean they won't pay
But do read up in the policy as that will be definitive0 -
Yeah it does, but i was maybe naive then in thinking that it was medical conditions relating to myself as the named person on the policy.
I guess its a bit of a grey area then to claim against, if my grandmother died of a heart failure as main reason on death cert but states underlying to be diabetes.
I would imagine any insurance company my try to reject claim based on diabetes being known about previously, but ultimately heart failure is "main" cause of death on the death cert.0
