Parking ticket when in England but live in Scotland

Hi folks, quick query to allow me to start an appeals process,
The parking ticket received by the keeper was for a car park in England however the keeper lives in Scotland, just wondering whether they should follow the process for England or Scotland? I'm presuming England as that is where the car park in question was? Many thanks in advance!

The keeper can ignore if they wish, or they can appeal but this will depend on the parking company.

If it is a BPA member then you could use the two stage appeal process, but if it is an IPC company you will get nowhere so it isn't worth appealing.

Alternatively you could tell the scammers that since they are aware the keeper lives in Scotland there is no keeper liability, therefore any attempt to proceed will be futile and cost them money since you will not be revealing the driver's identity.

What is the name of the parking scammers please?

Same answers as you will find on the other regular threads we get about once a fortnight with more or less the same heading!

Much depends on which PPC you are talking about and whether this is an easy peasy one to quash.

Where possible, get this killed off asap via POPLA if available (BPA Operator), or landowner cancellation. Then it's all done and dusted.

You can, given your residency in Scotland, safely ignore this alongside making no contact with the PPC, and definitely not providing the identity of the driver. But it won't stop them chasing you for up to 5 years (but they might try 6 as the 'infringement' occurred in England), and you never know how the law might morph between now and 2022/2023.
