Desktop help desired

At present I am running my desktop on windows xp, yes I know well out of date. I need to get a new desktop pc that runs on the up to date system and a printer that can print from it and also my I pad air, can anyone advise me on a simple reliable desktop pc and a printer thanks. I just need it for internet, shopping e mail and job applications as I'll have to look for a new job come September, thanks everyone in anticipation :T:T:T
