Is it the Windows password or the password before Windows loads ie while it's still in DOS mode? If the latter, then you can find the mainboard manual online (find the specification of the model of your computer and it should say which mainboard it is). There is usually a jumper switch setting and sequence to turn off the password.

If you have no idea what I'm on about then best take your computer to a local computer shop who can fix them.

If it's the Windows password, on another computer you need to create a bootable CD or USB Flash Drive containing the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor.

Then you need to boot your Dell from that CD or USB Flash Drive and follow instructions.

The end result is to remove the password from the account on the Dell which you specified.

You need an amount of knowledge and courage to do the above, so if you feel uncertain, ask your local neighbourhood IT guru to assist...

    Hi,

Sometimes this is because the system language has messed up. You don't say which version of Windows you have on your Dell, but some versions have a button on the lower left of the login screen where you can set the language back to English (UK). If this isn't available in your version of Windows a quick Google search (on another computer!) should bring up some more information.

    Good luck with it.

Easiest way is probly the "stickey keys" hack ..

I normally use a linux live USB key to change the name of the sethc file.

Model no. of your Dell and the type of operating system would help.

If it was Dailymail they'd ask you how much your house was worth
