Please read this article http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/you-switch-gas-electricity for advice on how to switch.
As well as recommending their own switching service, there is a drop down section which contains a list of reliable switching sites. Just click on yhe line which says "For more help switching energy via comparison sites click here" on the page linked to above.

"only pay £35 for dual fuel" means very little. Find your annual usage in kwh from your bills and use that to search.

High standing charges suit some users. Its the overall cost that matters.

I used this http://www.energylinx.co.uk/ recently as it gave results without asking for excessive information.

Search for dual fuel and separate suppliers. Separate suppliers are cheaper for me.

Consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you.

Most people go for the cheapest option for them (unless they have a specific reason not to)

You may wish to take customer satisfaction into account, and not be bothered with the additional cost and some comparison site allow you to list this way too (but remember this is MONEYSAVINGexpert.com ;))
