Barclaycard Fraud Detection - details at risk?

I just received an automated phone call from Barclaycard requesting me to call the fraud team. Laptop already at hand, I quickly logged in to see my latest transactions and all that's outstanding is my phone bill payment from yesterday and then my paying my bill this morning.
I phoned customer services (phoning the number on the back of my card) although there was a language barrier and the guy told me that they've had reports from Visa and Mastercard that my card details could be at risk, would I like them to cancel it and order me a new card? So I turned around and told him he might as well replace it. And then he turned around and said "okay I will keep your current card active, have a good evening, goodbye"
I'm confused on what to do now. Why is my card at risk? I'm trying to gain 20 more freedom points on it so I can redeem and then I'll be closing the card down anyway. I've never been a fan of their customer service because of the language barriers but this evening was something else..
How much 'at risk' could I be? And why?

A security breach of some kind. They won't tell you more.
Get the replacement and forget about it. You're covered for any fraud.0 -
Most likely it was on a corporate data breach file from a retailer0

Happened to me too around March/April - Barclaycard would not divulge the 'sensitive' details of where/how/when my details were breached, but cancelled my card and reissued with a different card number.0
