Travel Insurance for 16 year old

I'm looking for travel insurance for a 16 year old.

Parts of the journey would be covered by a family annual cover, but there are times apart, so I think it will be necessary to buy cover for the 16 year old.

A lot of quote engines have a minimum age of 18 years old.

Any recommendations for sites and companies that cover minors?

Who is your family policy already with as they would be the obvious choice to approach.

Have you checked that your family policy actually covers him for the periods you think as there may be exclusions that come into play

It's a bank policy that requires minors to be with parents, though parents can travel independently.

I am escorting the child to friends, then travelling independently (to another country) before returning to collect.

That does not mean that the policy will cover any of the trip, if you are relying on the bank policy for any of the cover it is important you check that it actually covers them.

Typically a travel policy has a wording to ensure that the policy covers the entire trip (Outside the UK) or if it does not cover the entire trip that it does not cover any of the trip.

Exactly, I am planning to buy the child's insurance for the whole trip, from the UK back to the UK.

The problem I am having is buying a policy for someone under 18.

I have not checked them for a while but Aegis and PJ Haymen used to offer cover for 16 year olds
