BarclayCard PPI - Self Employed Question

Hello
I hope someone can help. I have applied for the misale of PPI on my Credit Card which goes back to 2009.
They rang me to ask what my employment was at the time of taking out the contract and I told them I was on fixed term contract. I have today received a letter asking the same question again and to find evidence of this.
At the time i was in the middle of swapping from self employed to long term (2 years) and I am not sure how I can get the evidence to help.
Has anyone been in this position and provide advice of how to respond?
Does anyone know if you can claim for self employed or fixed term? I was told at the time that I required PPI to get the card.
Thanks in advance

If you don't have evidence, tell them.
You don't 'claim for self employed' or any other type of employment. You complain about a missale and give your reasons.0 -

Hi, thanks for your reply. Sorry I was meant to say can you claim PPI if you were self employed. I was told at the time I would need it to get the card0 -
Yes, the self employed were normally covered. Your policy documents will tell you though.0

Unfortunately I don't have them anymore as I have got married, moved a few times and a family since I got it. Is it advisable to ask for this paperwork again, if possible?
When I made the claim it was because I was told I needed to take it out to get the caught, so I am confused as to what my employment status was at the time if they do pay out for both, especially as they already asked me the same question via phone last week? They also called me last week in regards to my savings.
Maybe the calls and letters are just landing at different times and they only mean to ask once, however because it's been asked twice I feel a big trapped if that makes sense.0 -
You don't need the paperwork.
If you want to make a claim, phone up and make the claim. They'll tell you if you are eligible. If you're not, and it's due to your occupation, it willl support your complaint reasons.
If you're carrying on with making your complaint, just answer their questions as best you can.0 -

You don't "apply" for mis-sale. You complain providing evidence to support your concerns.
After careful research (you should have done first), you make a considered and robust complaint.
No point complaining that the PPI (if you had it) did not cover the self-employed if it actually did!
The reason you are struggling to answer questions the Bank is putting to you is that you made an opportunistic complaint without actually doing any research.
You may still have your complaint upheld, but if you wanted to be sure you should have checked first...0 -

I haven't got any issues with answering the questions, it's why the questions are being asked which is my query. I know the answers and I will answer honestly.
There seems to be a rolling theme about correcting how people word things like claim, apply. Can I just say that this isn't something the vast majority of us on this site deal with every day. We receive calls and emails about claiming etc;
I am also unsure what research I can do in regards to a claim. I can only tell them what I know and I know in my cases some go back many years and not everyone keeps the paperwork unfortunately.

You said you "applied for a mis-sale", which doesn't make it sound like you understand that you have actually made a complaint about a specific wrong-doing. The Bank are asking questions to ensure that your complaint is handled properly and fairly. They have requested evidence that you were on a fixed term contract at the time of the sale of the insurance. Why do you think this is unreasonable? If you cannot provide such proof all you can do is tell them so.
As I said, you might still have your complaint upheld...0
