Hi all
Was pulled over by police for speeding (I live in Scotland) the officer gave me a small print out (no bigger than a Polaroid and he actually said you'll need a magnifying glass to read this) with the info on it but I was not given a FPN. The officer told me to expect it in the post but it's been over 3 weeks and I still haven't received anything, is this a normal time to wait for it to come through? I ask because I'm now panicking the small print out (which I've lost!!) was my fine and I imagined in my panic that he said it would come through post and it's now coming up to the 28 days! Any help on matter appreciated

As you where stopped at the roadside they do not need to issue a Notice of Intended Prosecution.
Did the officer take your details? If he didn't you will probably get a form requesting them. If he did you may just get a conditional offer of fixed penalty through the post.
If you hear nothing for 6 months you've got away with it and can assume you were lucky.
This all assumes your V5c is up to date with the correct address.
It would be helpful to know what you were given at the roadside though.0 -
Thanks for reply. He had my license so definitely had my details and asked if I was still at address on license. I know, unfortunately I didn't even look at the receipt because I drove off as car was on busy road, drove home thought it was in my pocket and then when I went to check it I can't find it so I must have dropped it mid panic! It definitely wasn't a FPN as I say it was the similar to size of a parking sticker when you pay at a pay and display, had my car details and the location and after he asked if my address was same he said to watch out for fine in post but worried because it's taking so long I've made that up in my head and if that's normal time?0

It's unlikely to take more than 4 months as any longer would be cutting it fine to get you to court if you didn't pay up.0
