so just send the info requested. If I've interpreted it wrong then that's fine; I have photos and have quotes, no issues there.
The carpets aren't ruined but it's a bit annoying when you've paid for brand new carpets to be installed only for them to be covered in mud before anyones even moved in.
Most likely you will not have been their only delivery and they wont clean their boots after every deliveryI don't even know how someone can get so much mud on their boots walking from the delivery truck to the house!0 -

Thanks for the input but how's that relevant?0 -
You seemed surprised that you were charged and that it wasn't Ikea themselves who delivered. I expressed surprise that you thought this. It's not direct help, it's an anecdote. The MSE forum threads are full of them. Thanks for the input but how's that relevant?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Next time you will know to put plastic or similar down if you're expecting delivery men to traipse through your house. They almost certainly won't be allowed to remove their boots for Health and Safety reasons.
Hindsight is a marvellous thing.
But wait a moment what happens if the delivery person slips on the plastic sheeting. I think you would've had a letter from a" real solicitor " in that event.
Op go along with supplying the evidence and I am sure it will get sorted, not for you to angst who pays for it.0 -

Not hindsight, its common sense.
Not a problem I would have as I don't have carpets.0 -

Were you there when the furniture was delivered, did you make any attempt to mitigate the fact that they would be walking over your new carpets with shoes on?If I've interpreted it wrong then that's fine; I have photos and have quotes, no issues there.

you should of know they would be delivering goods and having to walk on your new carpet, so you could have got some of them disposable overshoes for them to wear.
some delivery companies actually provide these to their delivery men0 -
Hi all,
I recently ordered some new furniture from IKEA to be delivered to a new house which had not been moved into yet and had to pay £35 to actually have it delivered. Yes, really, £35 for delivery!
The first paragraph set the tone for the rest of the OPs complaint.
Unreasonable expectations!0
