If the mistake had been in your favour, would you have pointed that out?

Yes Probably! as I have always been very honest and feel guilty if I diddle anyone!:o

You seem to have got very upset about it - mistakes happen. It would probably have been spotted by someone later anyway.

Besides, why didn't you fill in a paying-in slip? I could quite reasonably get angry with you for making the queue longer because you couldn't take the effort to fill one in yourself.

No I'm not overly upset about it, I just wanted to know would the mistake have been picked up?

I didn't fill in a slip because I had forgotten the cheques were in my purse and remembered when I had gone to the bank to do some banking for the company I work for and thought I would pay them in whilst I was there! I have done this before and normally they just swipe my card and print a slip, so I was a bit thrown by the way he did it.

As I said before I accept that mistakes happen! We're all human.
I'm happy as all is well!:T

    Cheers:beer:

As a wise old boss of mine once said, "The man who never made a mistake, never achieved anything". Mind you, given the output from the school where I now work, just be thankful that he could string together a coherent sentence and write using vowels. I always double check bank clerks, etc.: I don't trust anyone, where my money is concerned. I used to work in retail, and the ability to read cheques upside down as the customer was writing them (especially the year every January) was a vital skill.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

So you do diddle people but fee guilty afterwards then! A very good trait!

    ~Hiya,
I work in a bank and what would have happened is that he wouldnt have balanced. Then he would have to check all his withdrawals etc and cheques . Would have soon been sorted.

there was no cash involved so 'balancing wouldn't have been an issue - all non-cash transactions are sent straight to the processing centres where it would have been corrected & notified
