So I've tried claiming back PPI on my egg card and loan using the tool on this site and have just received a letter from Barclaycard saying they can't find accounts with the information I've provided and are closing my claim. I definitely had a credit card and loan with egg, both of which where paid off in 2003 - 2004 and both of which had PPI...
I don't have my account numbers, so is there anything I can do?

You could gamble £10 on a SAR, but I would think it would be a waste of money after 14 years.0

Barclaycard bought 1.15 million Egg credit cards in 2011

Since you closed your credit card account in 2003/2004 it would not have been included in that sale, so it's no surprise Barclaycard can't find anything. The same with the loan I would imagine.

When companies buy the books of other companies, the data that gets passed across is usually for active accounts. Not closed accounts. So, as antrobus says, you were complaining to the wrong place.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
