So jealous you have a wood burner! I love how cosy a burner makes the house feel!
Well done on your eBay sales. I ended up making £75 after you inspired me to list those items I'd been putting off! After fees etc. it worked out to about another £65 towards my car insurance which was expensive so thank you for the motivation! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Well done Reb you’ve fairly cut down your amount for your DFD.
Can I ask how you’ve worked it out, have you used an app or that? Xx0 -
DEBT free date sounds cool to me too, any tips for working that out accurately and maintaining it?
Obviously manually working it out but anything to make that easier easier. I think then it’s an a great way to look at your debt, time based till complete freedom which is much Moreno emotionally motivating than a simple number to bring down especially for those of us who are less money motivated and more lifestyle/freedom motivated.0 -
So a couple more sales on ebay, which has helped, I will relisting the items that didn't sell this weekend, as it's surprising how many thing sell second or even third time round.
Mr Jester and Rachel24 I don't use an app to work out my DFD, I use spreadsheets that I update myself, (I love using Excel bit sad really) and it means I can put in upcoming changes and see how that affects it, such as paying less for my energy.
But there are some good calculators out there this is one often recommended on here, http://www.stoozing.com/calculator/soa.php its stores your info, so you can make changes without needing to enter everything again. You can also use it to play around with figures so that you can see what would happen if you were to cut down on expenses.
sauceoclock, yes I love my wood burner, there is something about a real fire that is just so cosy, and well done on ebay, that's a great amount.

We have a woodburner too, can't agree more about how great they are...there are downsides-it gets dusty and they're not as instant as heating but to be honest we pay less monthly for our utilities here in our big 3 bed, attic, cellar house than we did in our previous dinky 2bedder, and it's down to the woodburner. We very rarely pay for wood or kindling as well which is definitely another plus point!0

I often find I can often get away with just using the woodburner, it throws out loads of heat, I know what you mean about the dust though
Interesting weekend, I sold three things on eBay which I was very impressed with, as I hadn’t listed anything :rotfl: I had a couple of people contact me about things I had listed previously so I offered to do buy it now and they accepted so very pleased with that. Relisted some more items today along with a few new (to eBay) items I think one may be worth a bit more than I thought and it already has quite a few watchers so cautiously hopeful, i’ll update next Sunday on how it went.
Have spent a little too this weekend, bought some lovely yarn for my crochet hobby, I feel it’s a worthwhile spend, as i’ll enjoy both making and wearing the items.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend

I wish I could crochet! My Mum is amazing at it but every time she tried to teach me it resulted in an argument as I'm just so rubbish!!
Great news on the eBay sells, it's so odd how people suddenly become interested in something you've had listed for weeks! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
like the idea of a woodburner if you are able to use it, it's free energy and heat after all!0

Oohh crochet..another addict here, luckily I'm not addicted to the expensive stuff, but it's probably not a good thing that my daughter has a craft shop near her house that stocks my favourite and it's a really good price-pretty much equal with the big online sellers!0
