Don't want to spend my life in debt

Spent a good part today photographing items ready for a mammoth listing on eBay day tomorrow. Was really honest with myself about whether I will really ever use some things, hence them ending up on eBay.
Also my sky contract came up for renewal so called them up and got a discount for 18 months, I know most people would say I don't need sky, and you would be right it is a want not a need, but I have a health condition that means I don't get to go out much, so this is the luxury item I allow myself to make up for that.
Sky may also be able to give me a good deal on a Sim contract for my phone, when my current contract ends, currently I pay a rather scary £35.90 a month, because I wanted the top of the range phone, so I had already decided when the contract ends in Jan I would get a sim only deal as I really don't use it that much and don't need all the mins, data and text I have on my current contract. So I've made a note to call Sky in Jan and see what deals they have, and to of course compare them with others so I get the best one.

Hi Reb, I was talking to someone this week about them moving to Sky with their mobile phone, I don't know the details but they were v impressed with cost as a current customer it wasn't that much more and much cheaper than a phone contract on its own, definitely worth a go!0

That's good to hear Kittychick:)
Made my last credit card payment of the month today, so now it's all down to what I make from eBay.
Spent all afternoon listing everything on eBay, was feeling really fed up with it by the time I finished, however just checked on them and I already have bids on 4 items, :j so pleased doing a little happy dance.

Really like that in your earlier post you said you were "being really honest with yourself". That's such a huge thing that most people find very difficult. We can spend less, and own less, and be much happier!
Btw have you tried just using the ebay app to list items? It can be a bit easier in most circumstances because you can just point and shoot with your phone, add some details and get the item listed. You can still also schedule listing start times (which are usually FREE despite what it might say) to end your items on a sunday evening (they say this is the best time to end any listing because has the highest viewership on the site).
Awesome work man :T0 -
Hi
Thanks for your comments Mr Jester I haven't tried the eBay app, I'll give that ago when I list my next lot, anything to make it easier. Interesting that you have seen Sunday eve as being the best time to have auctions end, I've been making sure most of mine end then for a while as I thought I got better bids then, good to hear I'm not imagining it. And talking of eBay I have a few more bids, so looking good there
Also chalked up another 2 NSD NSD should get another tomorrow making progress.

Thanks for the lovely comments, few more eBay bids today, so fingers crossed lots will sell.
Racking up a few NSD's now, hopefully will be able to do a few more and meet this months target.
Overspent a bit on my food budget, I really do need to get that under control, not just for debt busting but also because I am eating a lot of the wrong things, so going to spend some time this weekend meal planning for October, so that I have a really clear shopping list, and then all I have to do is to stick to it.

Meal planning is really important to avoid overspending. I buy exactly seven days of food and only shop once a week, apart from top up shops for milk and fruit. It helps me to keep to my budget. I put the vital stuff through first and as soon as it hits £80 I put stuff back. The cashiers must hate me but it's the only way to be sure I stick to my budget of £80 per week for 5 adults
.

Well ebay has gone really well and the overdraft is now down to £1800.00, so that's £450 paid of this month, still have one person to pay fingers crossed that they do, I've also sold some more books and cds to one of those buy your books places so that'll be another £15.
I've downloaded the eBay app ready to list a few more items, this is my last big batch of things, so fingers crossed it goes well.
Didn't get much time for meal planning at the weekend, so will start that this week. Hairy hand I like the idea of only shopping once a week, it would stop me buying all those little treats.
