Travel Insurance

Hello,
My partner and I are currently on an 'around the world' trip.
We are currently in Australia and will be until January next year. Before we left the UK, we got travel insurance for a year.
We have decided to go to Bali for a month whilst we are here but when obtaining quotes for travel insurance, one of the assumptions is that we will be leaving and returning to the UK - we won't be, we will be leaving from Sydney and returning to Sydney.
I would get a travel insurance quote from an Australia insurer but again, one of the assumptions are that you are a resident etc...
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any work arounds?
