I've just got an email from UK Power Collective offering me SSE Collective 1 Year Fixed v4 for an extra £14 compared to fixed v3 with them. My present fix finishes in December so I'm tempted. any thoughts?

The collective auctions aren't always the cheapest.
Best thing to do is bash your usage into the Energy Club, here and then see what comes out top:
