                    Hello,
Sorry for being stupid and asking but this is the second time I have had a ticket from Smart Parking - the first time i was 7 minutes late and I ignored all their letters (about 12, last one was a couple of months ago so I'm hoping they have given up on that one).
This time I typed a 0 instead of an o in the machine but I made the mistake of calling them. Car registered in my partner's name. They said "we can see you paid but you typed wrong letter so you need to appeal and no guarantee you will be successful". Question is, now I have called them, should I appeal or ignore? I'm already more than 14 days from date of first letter (only got it last week, of course!!).
Many thanks - I find all these threads overwhelming but I hate them and I don't want to pay! Also chucked my receipt out by a mistake.
Thanks in advance.

Get yourself into the Parking Tickets subforum here and start by reading the Scotland-Specific advice in the Newbies Sticky.
And do not contact Fart again!0

OP, just ignore them. All that will happen, because you've contacted them, is they won't give up quite so easily, as they'll think you're a sucker for their bait. But the same priciples still apply, ignore everything from them, and don't contact them again.
By the way, you can expect to received the odd letter for anything up to ( I think ) 6 years after the alleged "offence". But don't worry, just ignore them all.0

5 years in Scotland ... 6 years apples to England and Wales. (Not sure about NI). These times are set by the Limitations Act ... 6 years from date of event (in E+W); 5 years from discovery of the event (in Scotland).0
