In debit credit history

Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I've looked and can't find an answer.

I have a joint gas and elect fixed term direct debit. I'm currently in debit. I understand the theory is over the summer it will balance itself out. However, I've noticed on my credit report with Noddle that this is marked as a debt (which of course it is! )
I want to know is will this affect my credit score because I would like to apply for a mortgage in the next year or so.
Is it best to just pay it off and then claim the credit back.

Thanks

  • There's no such thing as a credit score. The numbers noddle give you are not shared with any bank. Each bank will have their own lending criteria. Considering people with energy DDs buy houses every day of the week, one would assume the risk is quite low.

Thank you for your response. This was my gut feeling but it's good to get some reassurance
