Good afternoon all,
1) I have a problematic Motorola andriod phone.
2) Now, I have bought Samsung J3.
3) I have inserted SIM in Galaxy but ALL contacts are not there which means part of it are saved in the memory.
4) I have tried the following;
a) Tap the contact icon
b) Tap Import/export
c) Then the following options came up
(c1) import from storage
(c2) import from SIM card
(c3) Export to storage
(c4) Share visible contacts
My intention is to copy from the phone memory to the sim and then take the sim into the Galaxy J3.
In addition, I want to copy ALL whatsapp messages etc
Any app for this task?
Please help!
Thank you very much

This is where having a Google account on the phone and using that to keep a copy of your contacts and messages is worth its weight in gold.
All I've had to do when setting up my new phone is put in my Google account log in details and its done it all from the last cloud backup. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Sound advice; this is what I do too.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

there are a few paranoid people on here that still keep contacts on a sim but it is so much easier to just let google manage your contacts then you can access you contacts on any device by just logging into your account.
the benefits far outway the cons by just enabling sync and location"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
I do have a gmail account(via gmail app) sync on the older phone(motorola) which i can still access.
I can still access internet via home network on the said phone.
Could that help in anyway?

you should be able to move your contacts to your google account if you haven't already done so. you then need to ensure that your contacts are synced by going to settings > accounts > sync contacts and when you log into same google account on new phone it will show synced contacts"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

Thanks.
Will the whatsapp messages follow suit?0 -
you will need to goto whatsapp settings to backup your data to google drive before syncing"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
