Freelance Bank Account

I'm in the process of setting up as a freelance.
I was wondering if anyone could advise in terms of bank accounts? I currently have two accounts with Santander, a current account and a 123 account.
I'm thinking of getting another account purely for 'business' transactions. I've seen some peple advise on getting a non business current account, which should be fine as long as the bank allows it?
Does anyone have any reccomendations in terms of personal or business accounts?
Thanks

I have personal and business accounts with Santander. I can't fault their business account. It's not a branch based account. Everything is done via internet, post or the Santander cash machines. My account is free as I have had it years, otherwise it is only £7.50 a month. A lot cheaper than all the other business bank accounts from the high street banks.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I think you'll struggle to find any personal account which a bank will 'allow' you to use for business transactions.
However, if your business is you and the cheques will be made out in your name and you don't have a lot of business expenditure, I think a case could be made for a separate personal account, which would generally be sensible.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I think the chance of me getting cheques would be slim.
I'm tied between:
Barclays/Natwest/Santander0 -
You will get a period of free banking from Barclays and Natwest. But when the free period ends, by some lubricant as they will shaft you.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

To be fair. It looks like most banks will anyway!0
