Scam EPC Companies
I'm in the process of selling my house and need a new EPC as the old one is 15 years old. I did the usual trawl of the interweb as the estate agent-reccomended EPC surveyor is quoting over £100 and came across 'energyperformancecertificates.co.uk'. They offer a nationwide service for EPCs (amongst others). A bit more research took me to energysavingtrust.org.uk where it clearly states 'In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, only accredited Domestic Energy Assessors can produce valid EPCs.' Ergo, if your favoured dodgy on-line EPC provider is *not* accredited, the EPC is (officially, at least) worthless. As to whether anyone will care, is another matter!
