Ok Ive checked the mots and it's passed all except 2015 when it had minor exhaust gas leaks, its latest mot has no advisories.
So should I go ahead with an inspection do you think?0 -
It's a bit late now to get an inspection. Normally, you'd get the inspection done to pick up on any faults prior to negotiating so that you can use those faults to knock the price down.
You've already gone ahead and agreed a price and put down a deposit. Why put down such a sizeable deposit too? Only put down an amount which you're happy to walk away from.0 -
Is this the car.

My initial thoughts were that it was an excessive price for an 12 year old Honda but they do appear to hold their value well.
MOT history looks promising suggesting the car has been looked after as it only ever failed 1 mot and then only for a single bulb. Have a close look at the front end as the bumper looks miss aligned on the offside suggesting it has had some repairs at some point. To be honest most cars of that age will have so it's more a case of checking repairs have been done properly and the headlight brackets are intact with correct headlight alignment.0 -

Pointless paying out for an inspection on a vehicle you have already contracted to buy. and agreed a price for. Pull out now and you can say goodbye to your £500.
Did you ask the buyer any questions about it's mechanical condition, known faults etc? My concern with the spec is that's it's only been doing an average 3-4K pa, which indicates short journeys only. So the wear on the clutch and gearbox would be greater than you'd expect if it had more typical mileage. Having said that, the Jazz is mainly bought by older drivers as a local runabout, so nothing unusual in that.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
£2790 for a 2005 car? I paid £990 less for a 2006 car and that was over 2 years ago.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Beware of relying on the warranty. There are probably a huge number of exclusions and some have a low claim limit.Je suis sabot...0

RAC/AA inspections are useless.
You will never find a car to buy because they will condemn everything because they're afraid of any comeback.
Pay someone with knowledge but who has realistic expectations of what a used vehicle should be like and will tell you straight.0
