Capital One Credit Card

I have just received my Capitol One Cashback credit card statement.
Wanting to set up a payment online, I logged on to my bank (HSBC)
When asked to enter my account number I did so, and was met by a message stating the account number was incorrect.
I rang Capital One, who told me that these cashback cards have been issued with a new set of 4 front digits which the bank uses to identify credit companies, and that I needed to check with my bank, that they had this number listed. Rang HSBC they did not have these numbers listed for Capital One, which meant I could not pay my bill online. I could try at the counter and see, but they have no record of this new number range.
So please check the first 4 digits of your account number with your bank to see if they are aware before you set up online payments

I have heard of this before, some banks didn't have the facilities for american express cards.
I think the numbers are called "bin" numbers, you should be able to request that the bank gets them added, although it may take a few weeks.
Otherwise set up a dd for the minimum or full amount with Cap One so that you don't get any late payment fee's. If you set it for the full amount and only use the card for purchases then you won't get interest either, which is the best way to use this card.:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)
