Hi, I know that there is a huge BT thread going on but I'm not so sure whether my issue is a connection or a reconnection.
Basically I'm a tenent who's just moved into a new house. I'm not entirely sure how long that we will live there but we would like to get a phone and internet account set up.
I was hoping to join up to TalkTalk but apparently BT have to (re)connect the line first. I'm not sure whether this is a first conection or a reconnection. I do know that somebody has lived there before though and that we already have a phone number. However, to be connected BT tells me that I have to sign up for 12 months with them. Does anybody know of anyway that I can get joined up to TalkTalk without having to commit to BT first?
Thanks for the help.
Tom

Does anybody know of any way that I can get joined up to TalkTalk without having to commit to BT first?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
