in Credit cards
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone could help me as I am finding masses amounts of information and struggling to figure out which is best or if I am missing anything.
I am travelling to USA in August and wanted to get a credit card to travel with.
I want it to not charge conversion rates fee and also ideally if there is one 0% for few months, not a massive issue if not but be nicer to be able to spread the cost out a little.
Thanks in advance
David

I believe Virgin Travel Credit Card has 0% for 12 months on non-sterling purchases. But it has fees for cash advances.0

First of all, do you actually possess a credit card at the moment? If not, then you may have to make do with a low limit credit builder card and are unlikely to be eligible for any of the better travel cards.
You will not find a card giving commission free foreign transactions and a 0% purchase offer at the same time. Previous threads have established the non-existence of such a card. You really need to decide which is most important for you. If you want to spread the cost, then go for a 0% purchase card and forget the idea of saving on foreign transaction charges. The amount of interest charged on such a card if you do not repay in full will exceed any potential saving.0 -

I have a Nationwide select card which did both. It was something like 15 months interest free on purchases and has commission-free purchases abroad. It doesn't have commission-free cash withdrawals though.
I see it is now down to 12 months. You do need a Nationwide current account however.0 -
Clearly the card in post #2 does offer both.0
